Hello, I'm Helen
Helens Bakes began during lockdown, when baking for family and friends turned an existing love of creativity and design into something rather more unexpected — my own bespoke cake business.
Before cakes, my career was in fashion and beauty marketing, and that background still influences the way I work today. I love colour, detail, texture and styling, and particularly enjoy taking a customer's ideas and turning them into a cake that feels completely personal to them.
I developed my baking and decorating skills further with an intensive course at Fair Cake in Greenwich and have continued to evolve my style with every commission.
Today, I create bespoke celebration cakes, wedding cakes and cupcakes from my home in Twickenham, with a particular love for contemporary designs, edible flowers and those little personalised details that make a cake truly one of a kind.
Most importantly, I believe a cake should taste every bit as good as it looks. I use high-quality ingredients and bake everything with the same care I would for my own family and friends.
When I'm not baking, you'll usually find me running or on a yoga mat — or at home with my husband Simon, my chief cake sampler, and our two cats, Luna and Star.
